Lumut Port Annual Dinner 2024: Celebrating success together!

On December 27, 2024, Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd’s (Lumut Port) team came together for an unforgettable evening of camaraderie, celebration and denim-clad festivity at the Hotel Casuarina @ Meru, Perak.

With a unique theme of “Denim & Diamond”, the event saw 640 attendees, including staff, interns and their family members, coming together to close the year with a bang.

The atmosphere was electric as colleagues traded their workwear for stylish denim and festive flair, showing off their creativity and spirit. The venue was abuzz with laughter, music and the unmistakable sound of jingle bells, perfectly complementing the holiday season.

The highlight of the evening was the Long Service Awards, a heartfelt tribute to the employees who have dedicated a decade or more of their careers to Lumut Port.

From 10 years to an astounding 30 years, each milestone was celebrated with resounding applause and heartfelt appreciation. These employees have become pillars of Lumut Port’s success, and their commitment and loyalty are an inspiration to all.

Shuhaini Abd Latif, who’s worked for 15 years in Lumut Port, summed up the sentiment beautifully, stating, “The awards made us feel appreciated, and the family category was a wonderful touch!”

What’s a party without a little friendly competition? The Best Dress Awards were a runaway hit, with participants showcasing their best Denim & Diamond ensembles. Hj. Mohd Rusty bin Tamsir, dressed impeccably in line with the theme, clinched the Best Dressed Man title, while Rosmawati Kamis stole the show as the belle of the night.

The kids’ categories added a delightful dose of charm and creativity, with awards for boys and girls under and over 12 years old. The newly introduced Matching Dress Family category was the cherry on top, celebrating togetherness and imaginative fashion. It was a tough competition, but everyone agreed that the winners had truly outdone themselves.

The stage came alive when the children of Lumut Port staff joined the professional performers, such as Amir Sisi and Danseni Club, for a spirited sing-along. Their infectious energy and enthusiasm had everyone clapping and singing along, making it one of the most memorable moments of the night.

The entertainment lineup showcased performers ranging from ages 7 to 23, ensuring there was something for everyone. The diverse acts kept the audience engaged, and the performers’ energy set the tone for a lively celebration.

A long-service staff f 20 years, Suhaida bt Norsedin shared, “The best part of the dinner was the fun and exciting atmosphere—especially when the kids took the stage!”

Special evening

Behind the seamless execution of this grand affair was a dedicated team of 33 committee members, led by the ever-energetic Event Manager, Asrul Anuar. From meticulous planning to troubleshooting last-minute challenges, their hard work ensured that every detail was perfect.

Preparation began in late October, with some late nights, multiple trips to Hotel Casuarina and endless coordination.

One of the most appreciated additions this year was the thoughtful accommodation arrangement for staff and their families. A total of 155 rooms across three nearby locations were booked, ensuring everyone could participate comfortably.

The team’s efforts were not without challenges. From unexpected changes in plans to juggling budgets and schedules, the organising committee worked tirelessly to make the evening seamless. Their dedication was evident in every aspect of the event.

The dinner also introduced new features that made the evening even more special.

A unique slot celebrated employees who turned 50 in 2024, honouring their personal milestones alongside their professional achievements. This thoughtful touch resonated deeply with the attendees, further cementing Lumut Port’s reputation as an organisation that values its people.

The Lumut Port Annual Dinner 2024 was more than just an event—it was a testament to the company’s vibrant culture, unity and appreciation for its people.

From celebrating long-serving employees to encouraging family participation, every aspect of the evening reflected Lumut Port’s commitment to fostering a strong, supportive community.

Syed Mohd Faizal bin Syed Mohd Jafri, a 10-year old member of the organisation put it perfectly, “I enjoyed the company dinner because it gave us a chance to bond outside of work and recognise long-serving employees.”

With laughter, music and camaraderie echoing through the halls of Hotel Casuarina, the evening was a fitting end to another successful year. Here’s to making 2025 even brighter!
