As the blessed month of Ramadan is fast approaching its end, Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd (Lumut Port) reaffirms its commitment to community support through the continuation of its annual Asnaf Programme. This initiative, deeply rooted in the spirit of compassion and generosity, aims to alleviate hardship and strengthen local community bonds.
On March 21, 2025, the Lumut Port team had the privilege of distributing essential food supplies and financial assistance to 70 underprivileged families residing in Kampung Bharu (L) and Kampung Teluk Muroh. The support was extended to 50 Muslim and 20 non-Muslim families, ensuring inclusivity and equitable aid.
Each family received a carefully curated package containing vital necessities, including rice, cooking oil, sugar, eggs, condensed milk and noodle packets. These items were selected to provide practical support during the fasting month, easing the burden on families facing economic challenges. This initiative, with a budget allocation of RM14,000, was made possible through close collaboration with the village heads.
Since 2017, the Asnaf Programme has been an integral part of Lumut Port’s corporate social responsibility efforts. Ramadan, with its emphasis on charity and community, elevates the significance of this initiative, reflecting the port’s core values of compassion and social responsibility.
