LUMUT: Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd (LMTSB) has officially established its Auxiliary Police (Polis Bantuan) force, marking a significant advancement in security and operational efficiency for the terminal.
This initiative underscores LMTSB’s commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for its assets, staff and visitors.
A ceremony to commemorate the establishment of the auxiliary force was held on December 18, 2024, at the Capemax Seminar Hall within LMTSB. The event was a result of close collaboration between LMTSB and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), particularly the state police contingent (IPK Perak).
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal handover of the Certificate of Approval by Dato’ Pahlawan Ng Kong Soon (KJPJKK) of IPK Perak to Dato’ Haji Mubarak Ali, Chief Executive Officer of LMTSB.
Both leaders emphasised the significance of collaboration in their speeches, noting the anticipated benefits of having a dedicated on-site Auxiliary Police force.
Dato’ Haji Mubarak praised the joint efforts that brought this initiative to fruition and reiterated LMTSB’s commitment to fostering a trusted and secure environment. Dato’ Pahlawan Ng meanwhile outlined the rigorous approval process, which required adherence to Malaysia’s regulatory and legal frameworks under PDRM’s supervision.
With the Auxiliary Police in place, LMTSB has enhanced its security infrastructure. The dedicated force will ensure round-the-clock protection, streamline security operations and enable rapid responses to potential issues.
This development is expected to instil public confidence and foster trust in the terminal’s facilities as LMTSB approaches its 30th anniversary next year.
The establishment of the Auxiliary Police reflects LMTSB’s broader vision for long-term security and operational excellence. As it continues to strengthen its security framework, LMTSB remains committed to safeguarding its operations, assets and community trust.
