CHARGEMAN BO

Job Description:

The Chargeman BO is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in compliance with the local regulations and standards. The primary objective is to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of electrical installations and to maintain safety standards.

Roles, Responsibility And Authority:  

  • Responsible for Sub. Station switch gear maintenance.
  • Daily routine mandatory inspection
  • Responsible for Preventive Maintain for gensets & switch gears.
  • Responsible for 2 years Relay Calibrations
  • Responsible for upgrading & enhancement
  • Responsible for engaging contractor during emergency
  • Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all electrical installations at Lumut Port.
  • Ensure that the handling equipment of the port such as mobile conveyors, hoppers, container spreaders, grabs etc, are in place and ready for vessels’ operations and on completion of operations shifted back to the place of storage.
  • The above equipment’s should be maintained and ready for use at all times.
  • Ensure the smooth operations of the pump-houses and the hydrants of the port.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Department of Lumut Port.

Qualification And Experience & Competencies :

  • Possess Chargeman Certificate BO – or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years working experience preferably in the field of 33kV/11kv switch gears, control PLC, Electronic sensors, Inverters for AC Motors, DC Drives for DC motors, LT Distribution, Transformers and switchboard protection relays. 
  • Prepared to work on shifts and is able to work on heights.

Skills:

  • Analytical and meticulous in performing task assigned.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to perform multiple tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Possess meticulous, detail-oriented, and inquisitive traits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A team player with good communication skills, able to interact with people from all levels.
  • Excellent documentation/written skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
