Job Description:

The Assistant Manager Industrial Engineer oversees engineering and eliminate wastefulness in operations processes. This role requires strategic planning, operational oversight, team leadership, and a strong focus on safety and compliance. The candidate should also devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to provide an efficient service.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Spearheaded strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity at the sea terminal.
  • Perform a comprehensive analysis of sea terminal processes to identify areas for improvement and execute strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to optimize maritime workflows and implement industry best practices for resource utilization.
  • Utilize industrial engineering methodologies in designing and implementing efficient maritime operations and terminal systems.
  • Take charge of projects aimed at cost reduction, quality enhancement, and overall operational effectiveness improvement within the sea terminal.
  • Analyze maritime data and key performance indicators to provide informed recommendations for enhancing processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve sea terminal operational processes.
  • Collaborate with Functional Training Department in providing training and support to team members to ensure the successful implementation of process improvements at the sea terminal.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to sea terminal process changes, ensuring standardization and transparency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the sea terminal environment.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of industrial engineering methodologies, process optimization, and productivity enhancement within sea terminal activities.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can translate maritime data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver results within specified timelines in the sea terminal context.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, enabling seamless interaction across sea terminal departments and organizational levels.
  • Familiar with relevant tools and software for analysing and optimizing sea terminal operations.
  • Possess meticulous, detail-oriented, and inquisitive traits.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work independently.

Qualification:

  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years working experience in industrial engineering, preferably with track record in sea terminal operations improvement.
